REQUESTS for November 2008 Craft Sale:

Please 1) Save Christmas cups & mugs for winter arrangements. 2) Collect from your garden – Pru will dry if you need her to do that: Corn husks, catnip, lavender, mug-wort, tiny pine cones, pine needles, rosemary, rose petals, sassafras, and anything else that's colorful and smells good; from your kitchen - chopped lemon peel, chopped orange peel.

Save them for Pru & Penelope. Thanks!

ART EXHIBIT: Through June 27: “It Is What It Is” - A Solo Art Exhibit: Paintings and photography by Nanette Hatzes.

BOOK DISCUSSION: We no longer have a regular meeting for the Book Group, but if anyone wants to join the e-mail list, we remain a Book Network, and may plan a one-day Book Fest later in the year. Love books and discussion?  Interested? Call Andrea Theisson 337-3044.

FOOD BANK DONATIONS: We collect non-perishable food item on the last Sunday of each month. These are distributed through the Adams County Food Bank. Contact person: Mary K Eschbach, 717-259-7078.

KNITTERS, STITCHERS & CRAFTERS: RESUMES IN September, Maybe 3rd Friday? @ Pru’s home in New Oxford. Soup is provided, you may bring sides. Knowledge of knitting, stitching, or crafting is not required. Call Pru (717-624-2094) with questions.

MEDITATION SESSIONS:Buddhist Meditation, The UU Buddhist Meditation Group meets weekly on Sunday evenings at 6:30 at 136 S. Stratton St.  For more information contact Melissa at 334-2920 and leave a message.

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE: Membership meets the first Monday of the month (except holidays) at 6:30 p.m. in the main meeting space.  All are welcome to attend. Contact person: Melissa Sandoe, 717-677-7613 .

POTLUCKS: Everyone welcome to our potlucks after the service on the 2 nd Sunday of each month even if you brought no dish with you to share with the group. We have so much food on hand that there is more than enough to go around. Our potluck lunches are fun and offer an opportunity to get to know people.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION COMMITTEE MEETING: 1st Tuesday of every month 7 pm. Everyone welcome. Contact person: TBA

SUSTAINABLE LIVING GROUP: resumes in September, 2008. The Unitarian Universalists of Gettysburg’s Sustainable Living Group give information, encouragement and support to each other and to others in the wider community who are interested in using the earth’s resources wisely. VEGETARIAN-VEGAN CELEBRATION POTLUCK: 1 st Wednesdays, 6:00, Bring a vegetarian (meatless) dish or vegan (no meat, dairy, eggs or honey) dish (and a recipe card) to share with others. This could be an appetizer, entree, side-dish, soup, salad or dessert. Enjoy a great meal, good company, lively conversation, exchange favorite recipes, make new friends and have a great time.
